Terms of Service

Last updated 6 October 2026

These terms govern your use of Fortress (the “Service”), a product of Miantech (“Miantech”, “we”, “us”), based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.

1. What Fortress is

Fortress watches the events and telemetry your application sends, detects failures and unusual activity, groups them into incidents, explains what happened, and can issue protective actions that it then verifies. It also includes a Chaos Lab for running safe, simulated failures against your own projects.

Fortress does not make an application unhackable, and we do not guarantee that any particular attack, outage or failure will be detected or prevented. It adds visibility and a layer of protection. You remain responsible for the security and legal compliance of your own application.

2. Your account

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Plans and payment

Fortress is currently free to use, within the plan limits shown on your Account tab. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you well in advance, nothing will be charged without your clear agreement, and the details of billing, cancellation and refunds will be shown before you pay.

5. Your data

6. Availability and support

We work to keep Fortress running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, with notice where practical. Support is provided on a best-effort basis by email.

7. Keeping and deleting data

The retention periods are listed in the Privacy Policy. You can export your data or permanently delete your account at any time from the Account tab. Deletion is permanent, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.

8. Disclaimers and liability

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Fortress and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it, giving notice where we reasonably can. Anything that by its nature should continue after that, such as section 8, does.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer to bring a claim where you live.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
